226 AI developers voted in one of the most fragmented categories in the AI engineering stack. Here is what the results reveal about the emerging agent orchestration landscape.
The March 2026 IT Brand Pulse AI Brand Leader survey asked 226 members of the AI developer community to vote for Market Leader and Intelligence & Innovation Leader in Agent Orchestration Platforms, one of 26 products in the AI Engineering stack. LangGraph took the top position in both categories, receiving 25.2% of votes for Market Leader and 27.9% for Intelligence & Innovation Leader. CrewAI finished second in both pillars with 19.9%.
These results reflect an early-stage category where no single vendor dominates. Nearly a quarter of respondents selected “Others,” indicating that developers are actively experimenting across a wide range of emerging tools and frameworks. The IT Brand Pulse analyst team noted this was the most difficult product taxonomy they have ever built, with the AI engineering market moving fast, definitions conflicting across vendors, and product capabilities overlapping significantly between categories.
What Are Agent Orchestration Platforms?
IT Brand Pulse defines Agent Orchestration Platforms as frameworks and systems that enable developers to design, coordinate, and manage multiple AI agents working together to complete complex tasks. These platforms provide capabilities such as agent chaining, memory management, tool use, state handling, and workflow orchestration across models, APIs, and data sources. They represent a foundational layer for building autonomous and semi-autonomous AI systems, where multiple agents collaborate, reason, and act within structured workflows. Agent Orchestration Platforms sits within the Automation & Orchestration sub-layer of the broader AI Engineering stack, alongside AI Workflow Automation Platforms, AI Integration Platforms, Model Serving Platforms, AI Inference Optimization Platforms, and AI Application Platforms.
